According to recent research by property portal Zoopla, Croydon has been ranked the second most in-demand town for property in Britain[1]. The commuter hotspot is part of an extensive £5.2 billion regeneration programme that is set to transform Croydon into London’s biggest growth centre over the next five years[2]. This will provide a multi-million-pound upgrade to Croydon train station and a £1.4 billion investment with Westfield and Hammerson to make the town a top UK retail destination. Couple this with the fast and frequent rail links into the city, and the capital’s only tram network, and Croydon certainly has kerb appeal. Buyers looking for a home in the south London suburb should consider Bellway Homes’ new development Lombard House in Croydon, set to launch in January 2018.

Lombard House is a collection of one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments that will undoubtedly attract a wide range of buyer types, from young professionals on the hunt for a first home, to families looking for extra room, and downsizers who want to be close to the local amenities. The development is less than 10 minutes’ walk from one of the UK’s largest out-of-town retail parks, Purley Way and Valley Retail Park, boasting a multiplex cinema, bowling alley, a number of flagship retail chains and popular eateries. Croydon town centre is only a mile away and can be accessed via the nearest tram stop 10 minutes’ walk from home, where a variety of high street stores, boutiques and independent shops can be found, as well as The Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres.

Mark Harrop, Head of Sales at Bellway South London, comments: “Croydon town has so much going for it. With the regeneration scheme well under way, it is fast becoming an area homebuyers are flocking to due to its proximity to the City. Lombard House is the perfect place from which residents can take advantage of a huge selection of amenities that are on their doorstep.”

All of the homes at Lombard House are finished to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings and desirable design features. Kitchens are fully fitted with integrated appliances, open-plan living spaces and en suite shower rooms. There are a number of apartments that will benefit from having balconies and some come with private parking. Lombard House is set within landscaped gardens with open communal areas for all the residents to enjoy.

Sports enthusiasts will enjoy having Waddon Leisure Centre a 10-minute drive away, and South Croydon Sports Club is less than three miles away. Lloyd Park and Mitcham Common provide open space perfect to enjoy outdoor activities. Boxpark Croydon is located less than three miles away, a modern street food market showcasing a unique dining experience and exclusive music events.

For commuters, West Croydon train station is around a 20-minute walk from home with services running to Canada Water, Docklands, Highbury and Islington, London Bridge, Clapham Junction and London Victoria. The A23 for London, the M25, Gatwick airport and Brighton are also easily accessible from Lombard House.
