Boomerang Generation Should Look To Family Living With Bellway At Qeii

Boomerang Generation Should Look To Family Living With Bellway At Qeii

The desire for family homes is growing again according to First Direct, whose research found that a quarter of young adults aged between 20 to 34 are moving back home with their parents.1 The research suggests that 77% of ‘boomerang’ households are made up of parents with single children.  This is due to young adults settling down later in life, coupled with higher house prices, making it harder for them to afford a place of their own. House buyers looking for more affordable space for their multi-family home should look to Bellway Homes’ latest development, Bellway at QEII in Welwyn Garden City.

The first phase of the launch has been successful with 23 homes sold so far. There are now 12 three and four bedroom homes available to purchase off-plan. The striking development, which is off Howlands, on the site of the former QEII hospital, will comprise 163 properties including houses and apartments.

Jody Bryant, Sales Manager for Bellway Homes North London comments: “Bellway at QEII, is proving popular among growing families looking for affordable homes that are set in tranquil surroundings. Buyers here are largely families, looking to step up the property ladder.

“We urge anyone interested in upsizing their home to come and see the development for themselves.  We are here to help and delighted to discuss the possible part exchange of prospective buyers’ current homes enabling them to reserve a great new home in a desirable garden city.”

The homes in the Hertfordshire town, known for its tree-lined boulevards, will enjoy a quiet position, surrounded by woodland and large open spaces that will appeal to families. They incorporate modern design features such as open-plan living spaces, stylish Zanussi integrated kitchen appliances and contemporary sanitaryware to bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms. All houses will have garages or parking and private gardens.

The Hanover housestyle is a three-bedroom end of terrace, offering an open plan kitchen and dining area, a separate living room with French doors opening out into the garden, a cloakroom and storage space to the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a modern family bathroom.

Families will also be impressed with the quality of schools in the area including Sycamore Day Nursery and Pre-School within a few minutes’ walk. Commonswood and Holwell Primary Schools are also nearby while Sir Frederic Osborn School caters for secondary school children.

Residents only have a 10-minute drive to the town centre, which offers an array of shops including a John Lewis, Waitrose and the Howard Centre that boasts 58 high street stores under one roof. Hatfield Galleria including 80 designer and high street stores is also four miles away. The shopping centre also includes 15 restaurants, a multi-screen cinema and a jungle-themed children’s play area. Leisure facilities close to the development include The Campus, where residents will find Hawthorne Theatre and the Garden City Cinema; Mill Green Golf Course and Gosling Sports Park are also nearby.

Welwyn Garden City Railway Station is only an eight-minute drive from the Bellway at QEII development with journeys into London King’s Cross taking 25 minutes by train. Good local road links include access to the A1M in less than 10 minutes connecting to London. For international travel, Luton Airport is a 30-minute drive away.
