UK FinTech Delio, the leading white-label platform for private assets, has announced the appointment of a senior client director to focus on growth in West and Southern Europe.

Ed Cotton, a former private banker at Edmond de Rothschild, will join the team’s office in London and will work across Delio’s client network in the UK and Europe as the company continues to expand across continents.

Delio creates private asset platforms for financial services institutions, enabling them to appeal to the next generation of high and ultra-high net worth investors. The bespoke platforms allow their wealthy and sophisticated clients, potential clients and advisors to share, search and access private client opportunities directly using a common platform.

Announcing Ed’s appointment, co-founder and COO of Delio, David Newman, said: “We’re thrilled to have Ed on board, he brings valuable experience to our team which will only enhance our business growth as we continue to build strong foundations for expansion at home and abroad.”

Ed said: “From my years working with international entrepreneurs and family business owners, it has become ever clearer that these wealthy and sophisticated individuals want access to private deals and to share and participate in opportunities alongside fellow minded entrepreneurs. Delio’s solution perfectly caters to that demand. It empowers banks and other financial institutions with the tools and wherewithal to deliver a truly effective and engaging private asset offering that the vast majority are either currently not able to provide or, if they do, do so in an inefficient and friction-heavy manner.

“Furthermore, the growth plans and ambitions of Delio’s co-founders really resonated with me and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of an exciting high-growth business which has found its niche by offering a compelling and market-leading solution for the changing needs of today’s wealth-creators who are looking to invest directly in opportunities across private equity and debt, social impact and real estate, both direct and via funds.”

Before joining Delio, Ed worked with a number of global institutions, most recently with Edmond de Rothschild where he was part of the founding team of the London based Private Merchant Banking team covering international and RND clients as well as coordinating the UK distribution effort for the Group’s extensive private asset stable of funds.

Prior to this, Ed completed a three-year international graduate programme where he worked with a UHNW solutions team in Mumbai, and with a private equity team in London, originating and distributing funds to bankers across Europe.

Ed also has extensive experience of working with Iberian and LatAm clients having studied and worked with a private bank in Spain and their London asset management business. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

As well as working with clients in the UK and Europe, Delio is continuing to expand in the Middle East and Asia.
