“Love your local market week” took place from Friday 26th to Wednesday 31st May, aiming to raise awareness, increase footfall and generate increased business for local markets[1].  The event highlights the growing popularity in the UK for markets and demonstrates that local produce is still in high demand. Colchester’s Charter Market offers a fantastic range of vibrant stalls and is this town is a smart choice for homebuyers looking to move to a sought-after market town.

Colchester is also home to one of the South East’s rare livestock markets, selling a variety of animals to local business.  This twice-weekly market has been in operation since 1900, and farmers from several neighbouring counties have relied on it for generations.

Bellway Home’s Avellana Place is just three miles away from Colchester town centre, making it easily accessible for visiting the traditional markets and to enjoy the historic town and traditional way of life. The development comprises two, three, four and five-bedroom, expertly finished homes, ideal for family living.

Gemma Bannister, Divisional Sales Manager at Bellway Essex comments: “Historic Colchester was the first capital of Roman Britain and has echoes of its fascinating past all over town. The popular market and livestock auction has stood the test of time and both remain admired, exciting attractions in the local area. Avellana Place is within easy reach of the town centre and its market, while the homes are modern family residences, with a range of styles available. This development has seen strong levels of interest and we would urge those interested in the vibrant town to register their interest and view our fantastic show homes.”

A wonderful family home at Avellana Place is the five-bedroom Warwick housetype, extending over three floors and expertly finished. The kitchen is offered with a choice of fitted units, complemented by a selection of integrated appliances, including an AEG double-oven, gas hob, dish washer and fridge-freezer. The ground floor is also home to a spacious living room and separate dining room featuring a bay window.

Avellana Place is conveniently situated within easy reach of Colchester’s bustling town centre, which as well as the popular market, offers a variety of well-known high street retailers, independent boutiques, and high-end brands. Historic Colchester boasts plenty of green open spaces and is surrounded by the attractive north Essex countryside.

Colchester station is less than 10 minutes from Avellana Place, where journeys into London Liverpool Street take as little as 49 minutes. By road, the A12 is easily accessible for connections to London and the M25 for journeys further afield. Stansted Airport is also close by, just over 35 miles from the development.
