McDermott Maintains Private Equity Growth Momentum in Chicago

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced today that it is continuing the expansion of its finance and private equity practices in Chicago with the addition of partner Anh Lee. Ms. Lee joined from Kirkland & Ellis LLP and is the third corporate lateral to arrive in McDermott’s Chicago office in the last four months.

Ms. Lee advises clients on a variety of corporate matters, with a particular focus on debt financing and representing investment and private equity funds as well as their portfolio companies, alternative and direct lenders, and public and private companies in all aspects of secured and unsecured financings, leveraged buy-outs, restructurings, and subscription credit facilities.

“We continue to strengthen our corporate capabilities here in the Chicago office with several notable hires in recent months, and we are delighted to welcome Anh to our rapidly growing team,” said Brooks Gruemmer, head of McDermott’s Chicago Corporate & Transactional practice. “Anh is a highly skilled corporate finance lawyer, and she arrives with the experience, skills and insights necessary to attract and serve top-tier clients.   We look forward to integrating her into McDermott’s global platform where she can help us grow and develop our practice.”

Over the last 12 months, McDermott has added 16 partners to its US Corporate & Transactional Practice, including Michael McStay, Linda Ji, Roy Larson, Ivan Presant, Jeffrey Meyers, Armando Ramirez, Josh Samis, Ian Schwartz, Gregory Metz, David Lipkin, Rob Goldstein, Frank Steinherr, Daniel Martin, Jeremy Dickens and Albert Sokol. The firm has also benefited from strong additions to the team globally with the addition of Peter Crichton, Alan Gar, Elizabeth Moseley, Alicia Videon, Michael Holter, and Piero Carbone in London; Dr. Michael Cziesla and Dr. Oliver Hahnelt in Frankfurt; AlexaNingelgen and Eva Schöneich in Düsseldorf; and most recently a team in Milan consisting of partners Giancarlo Castorino, EttoreScandale, and EmidioCacciapuoti.
