Praxity named Association of Year at IAB Awards

Praxity – the world’s largest alliance of independent accountancy firms – has been named Association of the Year at the 2016 International Accounting Bulletin Awards.
It is the second time in three years Praxity has scooped the prize, which was presented at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on 6 October. This follows the award of ‘Rising Star’ in 2013.
Judges were unanimous in their decision and praised Praxity’s global influence, impressive growth figures and its focus on “taking care of clients’ needs around the world, pooling knowledge and resources”. They also commended Praxity for promoting gender equality, highlighting a 30 percent increase in female partners among Praxity member firms.
Helen Jennings, Praxity’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Praxity has recorded nine years of consistent growth and now provides exclusive access to nearly 40,000 professionals in over 100 countries. Winning Association of the Year for the second time in three years reaffirms our position as the world’s no.1 alliance for independent accounting and business consulting firms.
“The award recognises our member firms’ commitment to providing unrivaled client service and a shared goal of achieving better gender equality. However, while we are making great progress, the number of female partners is still less than 20 per cent and the IAB rightly said we must not rest on our laurels.”
Praxity was also shortlisted for Communication of the Year after the alliance launched a new marketing initiative to foster a sense of community among its member firms worldwide. This included 140 per cent more PR coverage, email alerts with above industry average open rates, bi-weekly ‘Tax Blasts’ and a new ‘Resource Hub’ to enable member firms to access a wealth of online content in just three-clicks.
Praxity member firm Plante Moran was also shortlisted, in the Employer of the Year category. Plante Moran has been on Fortune magazine’s list of ‘100 Best Companies to Work For” every year for 18 years.
