First time buyer sales at their highest transaction levels in 15 years according to the latest report from the National Association of Estate Agents. The data revealed that 32% of sales were made to first time buyers in December of 2016, the last time it soared to this level was back in December 2001.
Finding the perfect pad takes some savvy searching and persistence, but Bellway’s new development, Fusion in Harlow is ticking all the boxes for first time buyers, and with the added incentive of Help to Buy, it’s even more affordable. According to Zoopla, property prices in Harlow have risen 6.53% in the past 12 months. This figure is likely to continue with the upward trajectory after the Government’s announcement last month of the proposed three new garden towns, one of which is targeted for Harlow and Gilston.
Divisional Sales Manager for Bellway Essex, Gemma Bannister comments:
“Our homes make a perfect choice for those just breaking into the property market. Indeed, our development in Harlow has been attracting many first time buyers who have been delighted by how affordable a starter home is within the development. The proposal that Harlow will be one of the chosen sites to be expanded into a new garden town spells great news for house hunter and home owners in the vicinity. This growth will mean more jobs, better infrastructure and more wealth in the area –along with potential rise in house values.
“Buyers can snap up a stylish new two or three bedroom home with Help to Buy, with just a five per cent deposit, and a mortgage for up to 75% of the purchase price, meaning lower monthly repayments. The spacious two and three bed homes at Fusion offer buyers the option to rent out a room, have a home office or think about expanding families in the future.”
The homes at Fusion are designed to a high specification to accommodate all that a modern family looks for in today’s busy lives. Shopping in the area couldn’t be easier with a Tesco Superstore in nearby Church Langley, within a mile of Fusion. Central Harlow is perfect for shopaholics, with a great selection of high street stores, a long-established market takes place five days a week in the town centre and there is a farmers’ market once a month which is popular with the locals. Two shopping centres, the Water Gardens and the Harvey Centre complete this shopper’s paradise.
The area has an abundance of green spaces, making the new homes ideal for those who love the great outdoors. Harlow boasts a number of parks, play areas and a state-of-the-art skate park, while within the Newhall development, there is plenty of green open spaces for walking and children to play. Harlow Leisure Zone, with its spa, swimming pool, gym and sports classes is great for active people, is just two miles away.
