Research by Investors in People has revealed that 59% of us are considering changing jobs in 2017, a significant 10% year-on-year increase.[1] With Cambridge named the best city to live and work last year by Glassdoor[2], a new home at Countryside’s Novo development, just outside the city centre, could be exactly the fresh start so many people are looking for.

Novo is a contemporary collection of two-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom family houses, overlooking an exclusive beautifully landscaped square. Comprising just 18 new homes, Novo forms part of Great Kneighton, an exciting new community being created on the southern fringe of Cambridge. Great Kneighton offers a range of amenities, abundant green spaces, including a 120-acre park, and excellent transport links to Cambridge train station and the city centre.

Cambridge has one of the highest employment rates in the UK, having emerged as a prime location for technology businesses. It is home to 4,300 knowledge-based companies, ranging from small start-ups to large multinationals, including ARM, which came second in Glassdoor’s 2016 Employees’ Choice Awards. Novo is also situated just a short distance from the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, one of the world leading centres for academic and clinical research. Its ‘2020 Vision’ masterplan is set to double the size of the site, creating over 3,500 new jobs in addition to the existing community of 12,000 healthcare professionals and research scientists.

David Everett, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes & Communities Central Region, comments: “A new year is the perfect time to think about a fresh start, with either a new home, new job, or both! Cambridge is regularly named one of the best cities to live and work in the UK, both by its residents and researchers. These new homes at Novo are perfectly positioned, with an incredibly easy commute into the city centre, whilst being surrounded by nature.”

The Castello house design is a stylish family home, with four-double bedrooms laid out over three floors. The ground floor features a double garage, spacious bedroom with adjoining shower room, and home office, making the home ideal for home workers. The first floor is the heart of the home, featuring the spacious open plan living, kitchen and dining area, and a terrace that floods the entire space with natural light. The kitchen benefits from a high-specification, with composite stone worktops, white gloss handleless units and a full range of integrated appliances.

Meanwhile, the second floor is home to the large master bedroom, which boasts fitted wardrobes, a luxurious en suite bath and shower room, and a private terrace. Another double bedroom can be found on this level, also with its own en suite and large private terrace. The bathrooms and en suites are fitted with modern white sanitary ware, cream ceramic floor and wall tiles, and contemporary chrome accessories. High quality carpet and wood-effect vinyl flooring is included throughout the remaining rooms.

These attractive two double bedroom apartments are set in a three-storey building, offering light and spacious living accommodation. The contemporary fitted kitchens come complete with a range of stylish integrated appliances, and the open-plan living/dining areas lead onto a beautiful terrace. The master bedrooms boast feature glazing and a fitted wardrobe, and share a contemporary bathroom with a second double bedroom.

Novo is only a short walk from the Great Kneighton access point for the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, which provides a five-minute journey to Cambridge train station, and then into the city centre. Frequent services from the station into London King’s Cross take as little as 49 minutes, making Cambridge a popular choice with commuters. The development is also just a few minutes from the M11 for London, Stansted Airport and the nearby towns of Newmarket, Huntingdon and Norwich.
