The Inspiring Story Behind Federal Government Advisors – Interview with Jeffrey Londono

Published On :

Federal Government Advisors (FGA), a Tampa-based consulting firm, has carved out a significant niche in the competitive world of federal contract consulting. Founded in 2021 by Jeffrey Londono and Javier Hernandez, FGA is dedicated to helping small businesses secure valuable federal contracts.

What sets FGA apart from other firms is its unique approach, which includes an entirely in-house team and a deep commitment to client success. Its mission is clear: to empower small businesses and guide struggling companies to remarkable success in the federal contracting arena.

From the outset, Londono and Hernandez recognized a significant gap in the industry. Small businesses were often left to navigate the complex federal contracting process independently, receiving minimal support from registration firms. These firms would provide opportunities but fail to guide clients through the intricate bidding process. Londono’s firsthand experience working for a federal registration firm, where he often found himself “putting out fires like a firefighter” instead of presenting value to potential clients, fueled his desire to create a better solution.

In an interview, Londono shared the story of FGA’s beginnings and the defining moments that have shaped its journey. “In 2021, I decided to separate myself from these one-stop registration firms,” he said. “I went independent to provide what wasn’t offered. I realized I was a great speaker and leader, and I needed a partner to complement our strengths. Javier Hernandez, a childhood friend and junior league soccer teammate, was the perfect fit. He has double degrees in business and leadership, and we realized how our combined skills helped us succeed together in the field.”

Their collaboration proved to be a winning formula.

Hernandez’s structure and organization complemented Londono’s leadership and vision, creating a dynamic partnership to drive FGA’s success. The team expanded further when Londono’s driver, Kyle, introduced him to Bill Vear, an experienced bid writer with decades of experience in federal contracting. Bill’s impressive resume includes working on the $14 billion Central Artery Tunnel Project, and his expertise has been invaluable to FGA.

Creating A People-First Culture

With a strong team, FGA quickly established itself as a powerhouse in federal contract consulting. Using assets from crypto trading, Londono acquired a 5,000-square-foot warehouse space. Bill leveraged his network to hire experts in bid submission and those with winning past performances nationwide. The team, which included individuals with military experience who understood the procurement process and all FAR clauses, could submit highly complicated proposals with volumes of technical information.

A defining moment for FGA came in 2022 when they secured their first contract with Aurora Construction Services, valued at $75,000. This achievement validated their business model and set the stage for future successes.

“Winning our first contract demonstrated our ability to navigate the complex federal contracting process,” Londono remarked. This victory not only boosted team morale but also reinforced their mission’s confidence, highlighting their efforts’ real-world impact.

Today, FGA has over 100 employees and operates nationwide. Its comprehensive approach includes handling any federal contracting needs for small businesses, from registrations to SBA certifications and state and local submissions. This dedication has led to securing $300 million in federal contracts for clients, positioning FGA as a leader in the industry.
