The Zug-based nonprofit building the world’s most advanced cryptocurrency and token wallet announces exciting additions to its summer unconference
The Pillar Project, a Swiss nonprofit foundation building the innovative Pillar smart wallet for cryptocurrencies and tokens, announces several exciting additions to its unconference in Vilnius, Lithuania, from July 15th – 22nd, 2018.
The Pillar unconference is an unstructured, crowd-sourced event for entrepreneurs, technologists, the Pillar community, and those interested in learning more about cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and decentralized technologies.
Famed technologist Vinay Gupta, one of the original members of the Ethereum Foundation, Lex Sokolin, Global Director of Fintech Strategy and Partner at Autonomous Research, as well as YouTube celebrity Jsnip4, will join the lineup of speakers expected to attract more than 500 blockchainers to the Lithuanian capital.
Sokolin, an expert on ICOs and crypto-funds, said: “One of the greatest challenges facing our society today is how to move data ownership from companies to customers. Blockchain is the most capable instrument to catalyze this shift, and I am excited to explore this topic at the Pillar unconference.”
YouTuber Jsnip4, who has followed the Pillar Project from the beginning, said he is excited about the week which will encompass “blockchain learning, Pillar wisdom and fun”.
“A week-long unconference with the right people is capable of making history. Our field is filled with subtle, complex problems that need interdisciplinary research to make progress on,” he said.
David Siegel, CEO and founder of the Pillar Project, who will also lead a four-day Token Camp on tokenomics, commented: “This is going to be an intense eight hours of instruction on what tokens are, the policies and mechanics of systems that use tokens, tax and regulatory issues, distribution methods, and future token trends. It will be two hours each day of the Pillar unconference.”
Since the entire event is crowdsourced, the Pillar Project is inviting anyone to give a talk, conduct a class or workshop, and just enjoy Lithuania. Except for Token Camp, the conference itself is free – attendees only pay for their airfare, lodging, and meals. Families and kids are also welcome and there will be a big free party on July 20th at the famous Trakai castle.
Blockchainers are encouraged to sign-up early here https://pillarproject.io/unconference2018 as there is a 20% discount until Monday, April 30th.
