Go Full Steam Ahead For Northern Line Tunnel Extension At The Residence
Published On :
House buyers wanting a fast train connection for the work commute should look to Bellway Homes’ The Residence at Nine Elms, where extensive transport options are being further improved. The tunnelling for the 1.2bn Northern Line extension has now begun, connecting the tube line to Battersea and is the first major expansion of the Underground since the Jubilee line in the 1990s. The tunnelling work is expected to take six months to complete, with two new stations in Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station due to open in 2020.
The Residence at Nine Elms which includes one, two and three bedroom apartments will be minutes away from the new Nine Elms Station, offering a great base for modern city living. The development saw a successful launch with more than 100 homes sold since March, and now the extension of the Northern Line, is set to add that extra pull factor. The New Nine Elms underground station will be located just over 100 metres walk away for even swifter commutes once it opens in 2020.
Emma Denton, Head of Sales at Bellway Thames Gateway, comments: “With work now underway on the extension to the Northern Line, The Residence is certainly a brilliant option for city workers looking for a stylish new pad with the prospect of new commuting options coming to the area. It heralds a great investment for the future, as we are confident property prices will rise toward 2020, when the station opens. Once complete, the new Nine Elms Underground station will be under five minute’s walk away from The Residence, so we urge potential purchasers to come and see what’s on offer at our show apartments.”
Potential purchasers will also have access to many lifestyle amenities on their doorstep including a large gym and yoga room, a media lounge for cinematic experiences, as well as a meeting suite and a 24-hour concierge service. Meanwhile, the development will also include 2,475m² of commercial space, to bring new retail opportunities and an art gallery to the area.
The apartments offer spacious open-plan, kitchen, living and dining rooms. The kitchens comprise soft-close units and include a range of integrated appliances, such as an induction hob, extractor hood, single oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility cupboard in the hall with a freestanding washer-dryer.
All of the apartments offer a private balcony or terrace, which can be accessed through the spacious living rooms via sliding doors, with stunning views across the capital. The bedrooms are complete with fitted wardrobes, while en-suites are present in the larger two and three bedroom apartments. In keeping with the superior feel throughout the apartments, the bathrooms are finished to an excellent specification and comprise white sanitaryware, Vado brassware and over-bath shower plus chrome heated towel rails.
Transport options are already extensive, making the new homes ideal for commuters. Several local bus routes go into central London and south to Clapham Junction and Wandsworth. Vauxhall station, a short walk away, offers underground services on the Victoria Line, as well as national rail services into London Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Surrey and Hampshire.
