LIFESTYLE

New research by GoCompare Mortgages has provided a fascinating look at the UK’s ideal home[1]. The dream home should primarily provide peace and solace; it also should be situated in a peaceful village setting, with an elegant, traditional/country style interior, conventional layout, plentiful storage and a fuss-free garden. Luxury homes developer Millgate ticks every single one of these boxes with its new Highfield development in the village of Lingfield in Surrey.

Consisting of just 20 luxurious homes, Highfield offers a mixture of three-bedroom semi-detached houses and four and five bedroom detached houses. 52% of people are seeking solace from their deal home, while 33% want a village setting according to GoCompare. This makes Highfield the ideal choice. The impressive homes are surrounded by stunning rural scenery close to the village of Lingfield, which is best known for its racecourse, historic pubs, superb restaurants and independent shops. Highfield residents can enjoy the peace of the countryside along with the convenience of village life.

When it comes to interior design, tradition is everything. 26% of GoCompare’s respondents flagged up a country house style interior as their preferred option, while a further 26% highlighted the importance of a traditional interior. Again, Highfield delivers. The homes feature flawless finishes, with elegant interiors that perfectly complement their countryside setting. Traditional, timeless appeal is paired with individually crafted kitchens and well-appointed bathroom suites. Bedrooms are soothing, spacious and luxurious.

v2In terms of layout, 55% of people are seeking a conventional arrangement. This includes communal rooms on the ground floor and bedrooms on the upper level(s). Once more, Highfield hits the nail on the head, with spacious, ground floor areas including open plan kitchen/breakfast/family rooms, dining rooms, drawing rooms, studies and orangeries. Bedrooms are arranged across the first and/or second floors, with many properties also featuring a media room on the uppermost level.

Jonathan Cranley, Sales and Marketing Director at Millgate comments: “Each home at Highfield has been individually designed to offer maximum comfort and style – a haven away from the stresses of the modern world. We are delighted that the GoCompare research highlights how ideally suited these homes are to today’s discerning buyers.”

Highfield even excels when it comes to buyers’ storage requirements. 46% of buyers list a garage as their priority, while 36% crave a utility room. All Highfield homes come with one if not two garages, while utility rooms are included as standard in every property. The requirement for a fuss-free garden (buyers’ favoured garden type, with 24% of the vote) is also more than adequately taken care of. Each Highfield property enjoys its own extensive garden with patio, with grounds carefully landscaped to require minimal maintenance.

Lindsey Smale, Associate Director, Hamptons International, the selling agent for the development, comments: “Highfield offers superb traditional living that is perfectly attuned to buyers’ wants and needs. Every element of the development has been designed to impress and delight. We’re encouraging buyers to register their interest right away for these homes – with just 20 available, we’re not anticipating them being on the market for long before they’re snapped up.”

The final box that Highfield ticks is its connectivity. Just two miles from Lingfield station, the homes provide access to London Victoria and London Bridge in under 60 minutes. The M25 is also just seven miles away, meaning that the 70% of Londoners who reported their ideal home would need to be within commuting distance of a big city will also be delighted with Highfield’s many charms.
