On The Busses – Bellway Residents Get Free 12 Month Bus Passes
Lucky residents at Bellway’s contemporary new development on the outskirts of Chelmsford are being offered two unlimited 12 months bus passes per household, to help ease road congestion and make commuting much easier and cheaper. The brand new route, the 51 service, is being operated by First Essex Buses and will run every 30 minutes between Channels and the City centre, calling at stops along Broomfield Road before continuing through the City centre to Galleywood.
Home owners on the Bellway development, which is just on the periphery of Chelmsford, off Essex Regiment Way, will be able to ride the busses between 06:00 and 23:20 (Monday to Friday) and between 07:10 and 23:20 on Saturday. A typical journey time between Channels and Chelmsford railway station is 13 minutes which is wonderful news for commuters who can then take the fast train to London Liverpool Street in around 35 minutes.
As part of the Channels development, this Residential Travel Plan was agreed with Chelmsford City Council and Essex County Council. This includes an entitlement for each new household purchasing a new home at Aqua Verde or Eagle Rise at Channels to apply for up to two free annual bus season tickets.
Speaking of the new bus route, Gemma Bannister, Divisional Sales Manager at Bellway Essex comments:
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our residents the opportunity to have two bus passes per household. We are dedicated to making our homes and developments as environmentally friendly as possible and this scheme will help to keep cars off the road in rush hour which in turn will ease emissions on the streets of Chelmsford and reduce congestion. For our home owners, the benefits mean reduced fuel costs to access the town centre or station and of course no parking fees.”
The brand new selection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes, located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, are situated amongst attractive lakes and open spaces, as part of the ongoing development being created over the next few years. The development will also offer a central plaza with amenities and a village green.
The homes feature characterful architecture including vaulted roofs and full height windows to flood rooms with light. Most properties offer open plan living spaces, with generously proportioned bedrooms and top of the range fixtures and fittings.
Finished to the highest standards, all of the homes at Channels enjoy off street parking or garages. Interiors are stylish and modern, with fitted kitchens and stainless steel integrated appliances, sleek bathrooms with white sanitaryware and ceramic wall tiling.
For those who love the great outdoors, Channels suits perfectly. Surrounded by a wealth of green spaces and glorious Essex countryside, the new homes are ideal. There are 22 parks located across the city, and many quaint villages and historical buildings to be found in the area. Newland Grove Nature Reserve is close by for wildlife enthusiasts, while alongside the nearby River Chelmer, residents will find a number of walking routes.
Chelmsford city centre has a wealth of leisure opportunities. Meadows and High Chelmer are renowned shopping centres as well as a range of high street and independent boutiques. Locals also benefit from a popular regular market and a number of farmers’ markets are also held in the area. For evening entertainment Chelmsford has it all – restaurants, bars, traditional pubs, tea rooms and cafes catering to all tastes. Drama lovers can take advantage of two theatres which host a variety of live music, comedy and drama shows, while the latest blockbusters are always on show at the local Odeon cinema.
