SDL Helps Lifeplus Engage with Customers across 50 Countries and Gain Control of Translation Costs and Processes

SDL (LSE: SDL), a leader in global content management, translation and digital experience, today announced that Lifeplus has selected SDL Managed Translation for Small Medium Businesses (SMBs), and SDL Translation Management System (TMS), to manage and localise its marketing collateral into seven languages across the 50 countries it operates.
As a referral marketing company supplying high quality natural nutritional supplements and organic skin care that allow individuals to sell and work from home, Lifeplus provides content across English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Japanese.
Prior to working with SDL, Lifeplus used a number of translation services, including several agencies and freelancers to support its translation requirements. However, as a rapidly-growing business, its translation approach evolved in an ad-hoc manner, presenting quality, consistency and time-to-market challenges. The company needed greater control over the spiralling administration time and costs for its translation projects, and chose a combination of SDL Managed Translation and SDL TMS for fast professional localisation and translation management, across all marketing assets. Since partnering with SDL, Lifeplus benefits from:
- Greater control of content, branding and costs
- Ability to anticipate and interpret changing business needs and scale accordingly
- Lower cost for translating global marketing content though a reduction in cost per word with SDL’s translation memory
“Our partnership with SDL not only provided instant transparency on cost, but improved administration time enormously and simplified our processes,” said Faye Elmore,
Senior Customer Marketing Manager, Lifeplus. “SDL focuses very much on the quality of the language, and this has enabled us to really capture the essence of the content being translated. I cannot underestimate the value that this quality of work has brought to our practices.”
“Lifeplus is an ambitious business that engages with a truly global audience,” said Thomas Labarthe, Chief Revenue Officer, SDL. “But international engagement comes with a host of language challenges. We’re delighted to work with a brand that’s already making a big difference, and look forward to helping them engage with even more customers over the years to come.”
SDL Managed Translation for SMBs gives Lifeplus instant online access to 15,000-plus quality assured local translators working to ISO9001 standards. SDL TMS helps manage the entire translation process, and gives back control of content by centralising all translation efforts into a single, streamlined process, eliminating manual, ad hoc approaches. The technology uses powerful translation memories, terminology managers and customisable workflows, reducing translation costs by up to 50 percent. SDL’s team of language experts also assist the company’s content team with additional proofreading and audio transcription services.
