West London’s Newest Park Opens At Acton Gardens
Published On :
The borough of Ealing has recently been awarded 21 green flags for its parks and open spaces, including Acton Green Common and Acton Park, retaining its reputation as one of the greenest boroughs in London[1]. This month, joint venture partners, Countryside and L&Q have added to the area’s abundant green spaces with the opening of West Park at Acton Gardens, W3’s latest new neighbourhood.
West Park is the first of four parks that are planned for the development, as well other incorporated green space throughout. Many of the homes in the latest phases, West Park Terrace and West Park Gate, benefit from views overlooking the new park. The public space offers the perfect spot for the Acton Gardens community to come together, boasting plenty of open green space, mature trees and a play area.
Mike Woolliscroft, Operations Director at Countryside West London comments: “We are delighted to have opened West Park at Acton Gardens. It is an exciting milestone for the development, but is the first of many as our masterplan has lots more open green space planned for the community to enjoy. Our vision is to create a neighbourhood that people are proud to call home and providing these public spaces plays an important part in achieving this.”
Expected for completion in 2026, Acton Gardens is an ambitious £600m project, creating 2,500 brand new homes and encompassing 52 acres of land. The placemaking scheme is forming a new community in Acton, designed to connect to surrounding neighbourhoods through a range of new walking routes. A central square will be at the heart of the community, offering a supermarket, shops, doctors, dentist surgery, nursery and youth club.
The latest phase of homes available at Acton Gardens is West Park Gate, comprising 72 homes in total, a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, ground floor duplexes and two storey penthouses, all built around an attractive central courtyard.
The three-bedroom duplex apartments at Acton Gardens offer the best of both worlds, bringing together a fusion of a house and an apartment. The homes have been designed to separate the different uses of a home, with living areas on the lower level and bedrooms upstairs and include large terraces or patio gardens. Each duplex apartment also comes with a private parking space and boasts access to the newly opened West Park on the doorstep.
With excellent transport connections, Acton Gardens is located within a short walk of Acton Town underground station providing Piccadilly and District Line services into the West End and the City. It is also close to Acton Main Line Station, which will benefit from becoming a station on the Crossrail line when it opens in 2019. Nearby Chiswick High Street offers an exciting range of designer boutiques, good pubs and restaurants, whilst the Westfield regional shopping centre at White City is only 20 minutes away by tube.
