NEWS

London, 12 July 2022, 9am GMT: JetLearn, the Amsterdam-based online academy that helps children learn new-age technology skills including Web 3.0, AI(Artificial Intelligence) and robotics, announces that it has raised €1.2m in a seed round to launch into the UK market. The oversubscribed round was led by the INSEAD Angel Group, with participation from other notable angel investors, including Humera Afzal, CFO of Soho House and formerly of Backed VC, and Ritu Narayan, founder of Silicon Valley emerging unicorn Zum, backed by Sequoia and Softbank. The investment demonstrates the real need to address the shortcomings of the school education system in preparing students with a foundation in new-age technologies.

JetLearn was founded in early 2021 by Abhishek Bahl –  the former EU General Manager of Silicon Valley AI scale-up AutoGrid. As an alumnus of INSEAD, he holds two patents in Artificial Intelligence and is a frequent guest lecturer at INSEAD. JetLearn’s platform provides children aged between 6 and 16 with a hyper-personalised learning experience – and connects them to the top 1% of educators experienced in teaching Web 3.0, AI and robotics. Every child using the platform has their own personalised learning pathway, powered by JetLearn’s own AI technology and based on the learner’s starting level, pace of learning and interests.

JetLearn is democratising access to expert computer-science educators via its technology platform, and JetLearn’s live-learning model creates a powerful mix of learning, fun and inspiration. After signing up to a monthly subscription, users are able to access educators for online live learning, supplemented with assignments and self-learning projects. Subscribers are also able to access a global community of learners for collaborative learning, as well as workshops, webinars and hackathons. Secondary school students closer to college-age can also connect to mentors from top Silicon Valley companies.

Abhishek Bahl, founder of JetLearn, commented: “Schools are preparing children for the jobs of today, not for the jobs of tomorrow! Our platform fills this learning gap and provides school-age children from the age of 6 upwards with a foundation in new-age technologies. JetLearn’s STEM.org accredited program is the World’s first and only Web 3.0 curriculum for the K-12 segment. We already have a strong presence across multiple markets, and this funding will allow us to expand in the UK, accelerate the transition to delivering our experiences in Web 3.0, and to develop metaverse-native content.”.

“This is the Netflix moment for ed-tech in Europe, and JetLearn is one of the pioneers. The INSEAD Angel Group is proud to partner with Abhishek and JetLearn’s team of passionate educators and operators on the mission of empowering the next generation of creators” said Daan Wilms Van Kersbergen, the Netherlands-based Investment Director and co-ordinator for the INSEAD Angel Group.
